Dr. Henney Oh, co-founder and chief executive officer of Gaudio Lab, has more than 15 years’ experience working with advanced audio technologies. He holds more than 1,000 worldwide patents, most of which are essential to internationally recognized audio standards. In 2014, Oh started Project Gaudi in Seoul, Korea, where his team developed the binaural rendering technology adopted into the MPEG-H 3D Audio International Standard. He went on to found Gaudio Lab that currently has offices in Los Angeles, California and Seoul, Korea. Oh and Gaudio’s R&D team have expanded the binaural renderer to include new powerful and interactive features.

Oh also serves as chairman of the audio sub-group for UHDTV broadcasting standards in Korea and over the past decade has been actively involved in many high-profile international standards organizations, including the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG), ITU Telecommunication Standardized Sector (ITU-T) and Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC).

Before Gaudio Lab, Oh was a research professor at Yonsei University and went on to hold executive positions at several companies, including LG Electronics, where he served as chief research engineer, leading projects to develop and commercialize audio technologies, including Clear Voice and Infinite Sound. Oh holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctorate in electrical and electronic engineering from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.
